Blue Argolis Blue Argolis is a Trewes Viscount 40, built in 1968 by Vandam in Holland. At 40 feet in length, weighing 15 tonnes and made of steel, her strong constructions make her an ideal blue water cruising boat. The family bought the boat in 2003 in Spain. Greg and Sue sailed her back from Gibraltar in Spring 2005. The last 2 seasons the family have cruised extensively around the southern areas of UK and the English channel. This winter the boat has come out of the water for an extensive refit to ensure that she is at peak performance for the voyage around the UK. To achieve this in the limited time available along side work, home and family life, the boat was craned out of the water in Gosport, placed on a lo-loader and transported up to Northamptonshire. She has spent the winter looking oddly out of place in a near by narrow boat yard close to the Hill’s home, so that Greg could crack on with the re-fit. This is the furthest that Blue Argolis has ever been away from the sea. |
